My father was cremated here on Sunday, March 19th, 2017. I appreciated the great amount of respect the employees showed toward me and my family.
BUT, here is where I'm furious. My father could not fit into the entire wooden chest that was purchased for him. We were told there were "leftovers". We then decided to split up the leftovers evenly among some of the family. My father's mother (grandma) would get some, my uncles would get some, and his kid (me and my sister) would get some.
The way they treated the leftovers was completely disrespectful. They package the remains in a PLASTIC SEE-THROUGH ZIPLOC BAG. And then place it in a cardboard box that is 3 times the size of the bag with NO padding. No support in case the bag splits open or bursts. I had to fly from Nebraska to Nevada. What would happen if I opened my luggage and ashes were all over my clothes? I was completely expecting a nice looking velvet draw string pouch or at least something better than a sandwich bag...
So let me repeat.. If a loved one cannot fit into your large Urn/Chest. they will give you leftovers in sandwich bags. Show some respect. These are human remains, not potato chips.Added October 25, 2016 by BlargnCheese
